Reclaimed Lambswool Darning Yarn - Luxury Set (44 colours)

Reclaimed Lambswool Darning Yarn - Luxury Set (44 colours)

This huge set of 44 different shades covers the full colour spectrum and is beautifully presented in a sturdy white box with magnetic front flap - a gorgeous gift for any mender!

Our quality lambswool yarn is perfect for repairs, darning and visible mending.

Spun and dyed right here in the U.K using 100 % merino wool - it's actually leftover surplus yarn from the textile production process and without being rescued it's likely it would end being wasted and sent to landfill.

It contains no added synthetic fibres unlike most darning wool or mending yarns, which are often a mix of wool and polyester/nylon which makes it hard-wearing, but sadly it releases micro-plastics in the wash and doesn't biodegrade. We prefer to source pure yarn which helps to reduce our impact on the planet!

A fine, 2-ply yarn which can be doubled up if you require a thicker yarn for your mending project.

Suitable for:

  • darning by hand or with a Speedweve loom.
  • embroidery on knitwear.
  • mending light-medium weight knitwear e.g jumper, cardigan, wool socks, gloves, scarf, hat or even a blanket!

This set includes the following shades:

014, 124, 079, 188, 057, 198, 165, 179, 100, 167, 017, 098, 190, 153, 035, 146, 049, 105, 037, 194, 082, 016, 120, 051, 089, 096, 032, 103, 166, 009, 005, 052, 150, 045, 019, 148, 033, 183, 003, 063, 093, 097, 162, 174.

The yarn is presented on a Ministry of Mending card for easy storage and winding. Our cards are printed locally in Cornwall using 100% recycled card (FSC certified & chlorine-free).

Each card contains approximately 10 m (33 ft) of yarn.
